Effective Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Rehab

1. Our Mission at Balance Foundation Inc is to improve the health and happiness of our clients through individualized and compassionate care.

Our mission at Balance Foundation Inc is centered on enhancing the health and happiness of our clients through personalized and compassionate care. While sobriety is a vital goal, we recognize that many clients have experienced profound misery due to their struggles with addiction, encompassing issues related to substance abuse. Our aspiration goes beyond mere abstinence from chemical dependency; we aim to guide our clients towards a life characterized by health, happiness, and fulfillment.

Through our clinical team’s dedication to restoring the overall well-being and contentment of our clients, we have witnessed how successful recovery flourishes when individuals lead healthy, joyful, and fulfilling lives. To actualize this vision, Balance Foundation Inc has meticulously designed a Patient-Centered System of Care, where the entirety of our program and each staff member is committed to offering personalized and empathetic support to our clients.

Our reputation as a leading drug and alcohol rehab center is a result of our commitment to the successful treatment of hundreds of individuals annually, resulting in considerable improvements in their health, well-being, and fulfillment. With a highly skilled clinical team and the utilization of evidence-based treatment protocols, we are confident that our core competencies significantly enhance the outcomes and long-term success for our clients.

2. Treating Co-occurring Mental Health Concerns

At Balance Foundation Inc, we have forged collaborative partnerships with local agencies to adeptly address co-occurring disorders and mental health challenges among our clients. These strategic alliances are a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering comprehensive support and services, enabling us to provide tailored care that meets the diverse needs of our clients.

In addition, we have strategically aligned with other reputable organizations to amplify the quality and scope of care we offer, underscoring our dedication to promoting holistic wellness and fostering enduring recovery. By leveraging these partnerships, we can enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of our programs, paving the way for a more integrated and supportive journey towards sustained health and well-being.

3. Highly Qualified & Experienced Clinical Staff
At the heart of our Program lies the powerhouse of our highly skilled and dedicated clinical staff. Spearheading our Clinical team are esteemed leaders with extensive expertise in addiction and mental health services. Their wealth of experience and unwavering commitment set the standard for excellence within our organization, ensuring that each client receives top-tier care tailored to their individual needs.

4. Individualized & Compassionate Care
Upon admission, each client undergoes a thorough assessment based on the diagnostic criteria established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). This initial evaluation, in conjunction with a comprehensive range of diagnostic tools such as medical examinations, psychiatric assessments, and biopsychosocial analyses, forms the foundation for developing a personalized Individualized Treatment Plan tailored to address the specific needs of the client. Throughout the treatment process, this plan is continuously reviewed with the client and adjusted over time to reflect their growth and progress during their journey in treatment.

Our team of highly competent and expertly trained staff possesses a deep understanding of the complex nature of addiction. We operate from a place of compassion and empathy, refraining from judgment or moralizing, and instead focusing on equipping our clients with the necessary tools to address their addictions and enhance their overall well-being and contentment in a life of sustainable recovery.

6. 12-Step Foundation & Facilitation
At the core of our clinical treatment approach lies a strong Foundation rooted in the principles of the 12 Steps developed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alanon, and various other 12-Step support groups. We place significant emphasis on the 12-Step philosophies and traditions because of their proven effectiveness—spanning over 80 years, the 12 Step community has been a cornerstone in addressing addiction. Central to this success is the extensive network of peer-support groups both nationally and internationally.

Moreover, we hold a firm belief in the universal applicability of the 12-Step principles, extending our recommendation beyond individuals struggling with addiction. We maintain that embracing periodic support meetings and conducting oneself with honesty and integrity can enhance the well-being of all communities.

In essence, the 12 Steps serve as a guiding map to assist individuals in leading a healthy, joyful, and purposeful life. Through a specialized treatment method called ’12-Step Facilitation,’ our clients engage with the original texts, participate in a multitude of 12-Step gatherings, and embark on the transformative journey of 12-Step sponsorship alongside their peers.

7. Continuum of Care; Continuing Care; [P]relapse Prevention
Balance Foundation, Inc. holds licensure that enables the provision of a diverse spectrum of clinical services, ranging from outpatient services to the most fundamental level. This comprehensive range of services allows us to offer tailored support to meet each client at their unique stage of recovery.

Each client’s care plan is individually customized, with considerations for the intensity and duration of treatment. Based on the client’s progress, we have the flexibility to adjust the level of care accordingly, whether that involves scaling up or down the intensity of treatment or extending or shortening the overall treatment period. While our core Program typically follows a 4-week cycle, we acknowledge that some clients may require an extended duration for treatment, whereas others may achieve their goals in a shorter timeframe.

Recognizing the importance of Continuing Care, or “Aftercare,” we provide multiple weekly opportunities for former clients (referred to as ‘Balance Foundation Inc Alumni’) to participate in programming and 12-step groups. For clients residing in different communities, we assist in connecting them with local resources to ensure they continue to receive the necessary support throughout their journey of Recovery.

Similar to the management of chronic diseases like diabetes, sustained recovery from addiction requires regular management and adherence to treatment protocols to prevent relapse and address associated health issues. Understanding that the relapse process often begins before substance use occurs, we extend an open invitation to suitable Balance Foundation, Inc.’s Alumni to revisit our facilities for a ‘booster shot’ of Recovery at any point. This may involve casual conversations with staff members, therapy sessions, or re-admittance to our Program for a brief period to re-engage with their Recovery efforts. We firmly believe in proactively supporting former clients to prevent setbacks in their Recovery journey rather than waiting until they face the depths of

8. Family Programming
The concept of addiction being labeled as a “Family Disease” resonates with the widespread impact of alcoholism and addiction on families, leading to adverse effects on all individuals involved.

Here at Balance Foundation, Inc., we extend our support to not only our patients but also their families, recognizing the profound impact of addiction on the entire family unit. As part of our commitment to holistic care, we offer Family Programming sessions every week, inviting suitable family members to participate in these sessions. These programming sessions are designed with several overarching goals in mind:”

  • To educate family members about the disease of addiction.
  • To help those family members get the support that they need for their own health and happiness.
  • To begin to repair the broken connections among family members by helping to improve communication.
  • To have our clients and their family members share with one another what their needs will be to ensure successful recovery.

9. Holistic Therapies; Exercise & Physical Fitness
In addition to the traditional clinical services that we provide to our clients, we also expose them to a broad range of holistic therapies, including:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Music Therapy
  • Art Therapy

Our incorporation of holistic therapies at Balance Foundation, Inc. is driven by two primary objectives, each serving a distinct purpose. Firstly, our decision to offer these holistic treatments is firmly rooted in their proven effectiveness, supported by both research findings and our own observations of their positive impact on enhancing overall health and well-being.

Secondly, our dedication to embracing a holistic approach aligns with a fundamental tenet of the 12-step program, emphasizing the importance of being ‘open’ and ‘willing’ to adopt new patterns of thinking and embrace a healthier lifestyle. Introducing our clients to these holistic therapies serves as a catalyst for expanding their mindset and exploring alternative avenues for well-being. Even among those initially hesitant to engage in these holistic activities, our clients often experience significant benefits, with many continuing to integrate these practices into their daily routines post-treatment.
Furthermore, exposure to these holistic therapies not only contributes to improved physical and mental well-being but also fosters a more receptive mindset towards the other aspects of the Recovery program. Additionally, alongside these holistic therapies, our clients are encouraged to actively participate in various exercise and physical activities, further promoting overall health and vitality.

10. Spirituality
A pivotal aspect of the 12-Step Recovery program’s success lies in the significance placed on establishing a connection with a ‘higher power,’ or what we prefer to consider as ‘spirituality.’ In the context of Recovery, this spiritual connection and relationship with a higher power are deeply personal and unique to each individual. While some may find this connection through organized religion, many others define their spirituality in more individualized and introspective ways.

For numerous clients at Balance Foundation Inc., grappling with the concept of spirituality can be a challenging journey, especially when confronted with past experiences tied to a specific religion. It is not uncommon for individuals to harbor feelings of abandonment by their faith, questioning why they continue to struggle with addiction despite their beliefs in a higher power.

Within our treatment approach at Balance, our primary objective is to assist clients in establishing a personal and meaningful connection with their higher power, as they perceive it. In the words of the renowned scientist Albert Einstein, ‘There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

It is imperative to note that Balance Foundation, Inc. maintains a non-affiliated stance with any religion and does not advocate for or endorse specific belief systems. The notion of a higher power or religious practice remains optional, with no individual being compelled or obligated to participate.
