Balance Foundation, Inc. introduces Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) – a beacon of support for individuals navigating opioid use disorder (OUD). OBOT, a form of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), aligns with the gold-standard therapeutic approach recognized by Substance Abuse and Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Our Treatment Approach
We specialize in buprenorphine-based treatments, predominantly prescribing Suboxone® – a safer version combining buprenorphine with naloxone. Unlike methadone, Suboxone® mitigates addiction cravings and withdrawal discomfort, with the added benefit of being prescribed conveniently in a doctor’s office.
Suboxone Benefits
Research affirms that individuals in OBOT programs with Suboxone experience positive transformations in various aspects of life:
- Time-in-treatment
- Family relationships
- Social functioning
- Employment seeking and retention
- Physical and mental health
- Lifestyle habits (nutrition, sleep, etc.)
- Self-esteem
- Financial status
Additionally, participants in office-based opioid treatment witness significant reductions in:
- Opioid cravings
- Opioid relapse
- Illicit opioid use
- Criminal behavior
- Judicial system involvement
- Mortality rates
Our commitment extends beyond medication. In tandem with Suboxone, our comprehensive OBOT programs encompass:
